Chopsuey
"Chopsuey" is one of my favorite Filipino dish. It is a mixed veggies and is very easy to cook though it requires time for chopping different types of veggies. Well it's all worth it because Chopsuey is not only delicious but it's also very healthy.
Ingredients:
1/4 kilo pork, sliced into small pieces
1/4 kilo shrimps, shelled, deveined and halved
1/4 kilo chicken liver and gizzard, sliced to small pieces
1/4 kilo cauliflower, broken to bite size
1/4 kilo string beans
1/4 kilo snow peas (sitsaro)
1/4 kilo cabbage, cut into squares
10 to 15 boiled quail eggs
2 stalks of leeks, cut into 2" long pieces
3 stalks celery, cut into 2" long pieces
5 cloves garlic, diced
2 onions, diced
1 carrot, sliced thinly
1 piece red bell pepper, cut in strips
1 piece green bell pepper. cut in strips
2 tablespoons of cornstarch, dissolved in 1/4 cup of water
2 cups chicken stock (broth)
3 tablespoons of sesame oil
3 tablespoons of patis (fish sauce)
4 tablespoons of corn oil or vegetable oil
Salt to taste
How To:
In a big pan or wok, sauté garlic, onions then add in the pork. chicken liver and gizzard. Add 1 cup of stock, pinch of salt and simmer for 15 minutes or until pork and chicken giblets are cooked.
Mix in the shrimp then all the vegetables. Add the remaining 1 cup of stock, patis and the dissolved cornstarch. Cook for about 10 minutes or until the vegetables are done. Add the sesame oil. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with rice.

Sinigang Na Baboy
This is another Filipino Recipe that you can prepare during this cold season. I am going to try this tonight so wish me luck. Hopefully my husband will like this, if not then he needs to eat a toast for himself hahhaha.
Ingredients:
3/4 kilo Pork, cut into chunks
3 tomatoes, sliced
2 onions, diced
5 cloves of garlic, minced
100 grams Kangkong (river spinach)
100 grams String beans
2 pieces horse radishes, sliced
3 pieces gabi (taro), pealed
1 pack knor or maggi pork tamarind
3 tablespoons of patis
1 liter of water
How To:
In a pot, sauté garlic and onion then add the tomatoes then let simmer for 5 minutes. Add pork, patis and water and bring it to boil then simmer for 15 minutes. After that, add the gabi and continue to simmer for another 15 minutes or until the pork is tender. Add radish and let it simmer for 10 minutes before adding string beans and kangkong. Let boil for 2 minutes. Serve it with rice...

Chicken Tinola

Another Filipino dish that's very good and ideal for everyday meal especially for Lactating mother.
Ingredients:
1 lb. drumstick chicken or any part like thighs and wings
1 small size ginger
2 leeks, chopped
1 knor cubes
salt and pepper to taste
4-5 cups water (or rice water – 2nd washing)
2-3 sayote, sliced
malunggay leaves
Chili leaves
How To:
Put water and chicken in medium pan and bring it boil. Add ginger, knor cubes and sayote then let is simmer for few minutes or until Sayote is tender. Seasoned it with salt and pepper and add the malunggay and chili leaves. Stir it and then remove from heat. Let stand for a few minutes to cook the green vegetables before serving.

Great Combo
Shrimp Sinigang
Sinigang, nilaga or any kind of soup is really good especially during winter. I am the type of person who really enjoys soups more during cold seasons and would never get tired of making some almost everyday.Ingredients:
1 Kilo Shrimp
12 pcs Tamarind (Sampaloc)
1 big Onion (diced)
3 big tomatoes (quartered)
2 pieces Radish (sliced)
1 bundle Sitaw (Strringbeans)
1 bundle Kangkong (cut into 2" long)
3 pieces long green pepper
5 cups ricewash or water
Salt or Patis to taste
How To:
First you need to do is boil Tamarind in water to soften. Pound and extract all juices and set aside. And then, get a casserole, boil rice wash or water, Tamarind juice, onions, tomatoes and Radish. Lower the fire and add in Shrimps, Kangkong, Sitaw and green long pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes and then season it with salt and patis and then serve it hot. That's it!

Pancit Bihon
Ideal for any occasions such as birthdays and get together with friends.Ingredients:
1 Pack Pancit Bihon
1/2 lbs. Shrimp
2 pcs. carrots, sliced
1/4 lbs Cabbage
1/4 lbs Snowpeas
1 Onion, sliced
3 Gloves garlic, sliced
Vegetable Oil
3 tps. Soy Sauce
Salt and Pepper
Knor Cubes
For Garnish:
Onion Leeks

How To:
1. Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a pan. Stir fry onions and garlic then add shrimp. Add carrots and snowpeas and let it cook for few minutes. After that, add at least half cup of water then add soy sauce and knor cubes. You can then remove the vegetables and shrimp and set aside.
2. Then add pancit bihon on the pan, mixed it and let it cook for few minutes. Lower the heat and add the vegetable and shrimp then mixed it. You can then add the thinly sliced cabbage and add salt and pepper to taste.
3. Garnish it with sliced onion leeks afterward and then decorate it with a slice of lemon on the side of the plate.
