How do I use a custom domain name on my blog?

I got this instructions from Blogspot:

Publishing on Blog*Spot is the fastest and easiest way to use all of Blogger's great features. (And for free, no less!) If you don't care to have blogspot.com in your blog's address, though, you can get a domain of your own. We'll continue to host all your content as before, but it will be displayed at your new address. (Unlike FTP publishing, which requires you to buy both a domain name and a hosting service.)

Your Domain
The first thing you'll need to do is to choose a domain name, like mysite.com and register it. You can register domain names from any of a number of different registrars, and you can use .com, .org, .net or any other valid addresses. Remember: you only need to get the domain name; you don't have to pay extra for hosting service.

DNS Settings
DNS stands for Domain Name System, and a DNS server determines what site a given address takes you to. So far, you have a domain name but none of the servers on the internet know what to do with it yet. To take care of this, you need to create a CNAME record for your domain with the DNS, associating your domain with ghs.google.com. The exact procedure for doing this varies depending on your domain registrar, but you can find instructions for many common registrars here. If yours isn't listed, or if you run into other difficulties, you can contact your registrar directly and they'll be able to help you out.

Once you've told one particular DNS server about your new domain, it will have to transfer that information to all the other servers on the internet, which could take a couple of days. So be aware that your new domain won't necessarily be working instantly.

Blogger Settings
Almost done! At this point, you have a domain name, and the DNS servers know to direct people to Google when they want to see your blog. But Google hosts lots of blogs, so we have to make sure the right one is associated with this domain. You'll do this on the Settings | Publishing tab for your blog in Blogger.

If you're publishing on Blog*Spot, you'll see a link near the top offering to switch you to a custom domain. Go ahead and click that link.

The Blog*Spot Address setting now changes to Your Domain. Fill in the domain you registered at the beginning of this process, then save your settings.

Now the only thing left to do is to tell everybody about your new address!

Notes:

If your new domain isn't taking you to your blog, wait another day or two, to make sure all the DNS servers have been updated. If it still isn't working, contact your registrar to make sure you entered the DNS settings correctly.
Your original Blog*Spot address will automatically forward to your new domain. That way, any existing links or bookmarks to your site will still work.
You can use this feature with domains (e.g. mysite.com) or subdomains (e.g. name.mysite.com). However, you cannot specify subdirectories (e.g. mysite.com/blog/) or wildcards (e.g. *.mysite.com).
Your posted images will continue to display on your blog as described here.

How to Delete the Contents of the Temporary Internet Files Folder

I'm sharing you on how to delete Temporary Internet Files. Me myself just did it this morning because I encounter some trouble on Logging In blogspot. Blogsot said to delete the Temporary Internet Files that hinder me from Logging In.

The Temporary Internet Files (or cache) folder contains Web page content that is stored on your hard disk for quick viewing. This cache permits Internet Explorer or MSN Explorer to download only the content that has changed since you last viewed a Web page, instead of downloading all the content for a page every time it is displayed. To delete the files in the Temporary Internet Files folder, follow these steps:.

1. Quit Internet Explorer and quit any instances of Windows Explorer.
2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
3. On the General tab, click Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files.
4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the Delete all offline content check box , and then click OK.
5. Click OK.

Notes

*If the Temporary Internet Files folder contains a significant amount of Web page content, this process may take several minutes to complete.

*An administrator can customize your Temporary Internet Files settings and prevent you from changing them (for example, by removing the General tab from the interface in the Internet Options dialog box). If you cannot access the Internet Options dialog box or the General tab, contact your administrator for more information.
Files that start with the word "Cookie" may remain in your Temporary Internet Files folder after you follow these steps. These files are pointers to the actual cookie files that are located in your Cookies folder. Comparison

I got a Tag from my friend Anne. And i find it very interesting. Thanks day Anne!

***Are Filipino guys more traditional? If so, does that mean their values are more intact than that of foreigners?

The values of each individual can’t be determined from which country you are from. It’s is something acquired from the time you’re inside your mom’s womb up to the time you were raised. The emotions of a mother while she’s pregnant create a big impact to the baby. Plus the environment of where you were raised and people that surrounds you.. So I strongly believed that each person have different individuality no matter what race you are.

***Is the stereotype true that Westerners have a less of a sense of spirituality? What about a foreigner's view of commitment in a relationship?

It’s not true for I have seen a lot of spiritual foreigners. And relationship wise, I think it’s something to do with the culture, the individuality of a person, their sets of mind and the standard of living they wished for. We can never foretell what’s going to happened in a relationship neither a Filipino nor Americans. As we all know, some country have Divorced and some have not. But come to think of it, there might be no Divorced in the Philippines but there’s Annulment and there are a lot of separations. So it’s solely depends on the person involved rather than the nationality.

***How are they as mates- is they jealous, possessive?

My husband is a foreigner and as normal person as I am. I believe that other individuals and couples just normally feel every emotion we share. And jealousy is normal as well, it depends on how you manage and how both partner handle the situation.

***Is it true that normally a stronger woman is better off with a foreigner?

Some people said so, I have a friend that said she wanted to marry a foreigner because she is strong enough that she think if she will have Filipino husband, he will be “under de saya” which she don’t like to happened. But I think it’s how a couple talk and how open they are between each other.

Where Should I Apply for My First Credit Card?

Best Answer:

Yes, start with a store card, any major retail chain. If that doesn't work, check with your bank and see if they issue secured credit cards. They put a hold on part of your savings and give you a credit limit up to that amount. Gas cards (issued by the major oil companies) are another option, they have a low limit so they are easier to get. Once you get a card, you need to use it in order to establish your credit history, but be sure the payments are on time. Credit issuers don't report the fact that you got turned down, but they definitely report inquiries (the fact that they checked your credit because you applied for a card or loan), and too many inquiries will hurt your credit score. So do not apply at a lot of places. Pick a mid-level store like JC Penney and see what happens. Also, having too many credit cards can be a negative. Once you establish credit you will be inundated with credit card offers. Resist the tempation - keep two or three bank, store and/or gas cards and stick them them.

Top 10 Money Drains

Thursday, August 16, 2007
provided by

It's easy to fritter away money on daily expenses. If you fall into these money traps, learn to avoid them and pocket the savings.

1. Coffee -- According to the National Coffee Association, the average price for brewed coffee is $1.38. There are roughly 260 weekdays per year, so buying one coffee every weekday morning costs almost $360 per year.

2. Cigarettes -- The Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids reports that the average price for a pack of cigarettes in the United States is $4.54. Pack-a-day smokers fork out $1,660 a year. Weekend smoker? Buying a pack once a week adds up, too: $236.

3. Alcohol -- Drink prices vary based on the location. But assuming an average of $5 per beer including tip, buying two beers per day adds up to $3,650 per year. Figure twice that for two mixed drinks a day at the local bar. That's not chump change.

4. Bottled water from convenience stores -- A 20-ounce bottle of Aquafina bottled water costs about $1. One bottle of water per day costs $365 per year. It costs the environment plenty, too.

5. Manicures -- The Day Spa Magazine Price Survey of 2004 found that the average cost of a manicure is $20.53. A weekly manicure sets you back about $1,068 per year.

6. Car washes -- The average cost for a basic auto detailing package is $58, according to Costhelper.com. The tab for getting your car detailed every two months: $348 per year.

7. Weekday lunches out -- $9 will generally cover a decent lunch most work days. If you buy rather than pack a lunch five days a week for one year, you shell out about $2,350 a year.

8. Vending machines snacks -- The average vending machine snack costs $1. Buy a pack of cookies every afternoon at work and pay $260 per year.

9. Interest charges on credit card bills -- According to a survey released at the end of May 2007, the median amount of credit card debt carried by Americans is $6,600. Rate tables on Bankrate.com indicate that fixed interest rates on a standard card average 13.44 percent. Making the minimum payment each month, it will take 250 months (almost 21 years) to pay off the debt and cost $4,868 in interest. Ouch!

10. Unused memberships -- Costhelper.com reports that the monthly service fee at gyms averages between $35 and $40. At $40 per month, an unused gym membership runs $480 per year.

Time to Set your Kids Back to School Sleep Clock

FRIDAY, Aug. 17 (HealthDay News) -- Sleep experts are reminding parents that establishing regular sleep habits should be included on children's back-to-school lists.

Children should gradually start adjusting their sleep schedules about two weeks prior to the start of the new school year, according to the National Sleep Foundation. Children need adequate sleep in order to be alert and energized and able to perform their best at school.

"Kids tend to sleep and wake up later during the summer, making the transition to the school-year sleep schedule difficult. As tempting as it is to enjoy sleeping late in the final days of summer break, getting up earlier for school will be much easier if kids begin adjusting their sleep schedules now," Richard Gelula, CEO of the NSF, said in a prepared statement.

The NSF offers the following sleep tips for the start of the school and the rest of the school year:

Beginning two weeks to 10 days before the start of school, gradually adjust children to earlier sleep and wake times in order to set their biological clocks for the new schedule.
Keep a regular sleep schedule on weekdays and avoid extreme changes in the routine on weekends.
Establish a relaxing bedtime routine, such as reading before bed.
Do not have televisions, computers, video games or other electronics in the bedroom. Don't let children watch television or use electronic devices during the half hour before bedtime.
Limit caffeine intake, especially after lunch.
Make sure children eat well and exercise
The NSF also offered sleep advice for parents:

Set a good example. By adopting good sleep habits, your children are less likely to develop bad sleep habits.
Talk to children about the importance of healthy sleep and the consequences of sleepiness, such as drowsy driving.
Parents need to understand that children, including teens, need more sleep than adults.
Children who have trouble waking in the morning on more than three days a week, or who snore, may not be getting enough sleep. They may need to be evaluated by a specialist.
Ask teachers whether your child is alert or sleepy during class. If there appears to be a problem, take steps to improve your child's sleep.

My training in TESDA

This pic was taken in Food and Beverage Services Training Area of TESDA WOMEN's CENTER in Manila where i took my vocation course, a 6 months training of HRM-Food and Beverage Services. Inside TESDA WOMEN"S CENTER is beautiful and clean... from utensils, equipments, training area, function areas where officials in the philippines usualy held conference. The HRM training areais like a hotel, from Food and Bev to Food Prep and Housekeeping. It was so fun because it's more on actual training rather than theories. Plus i was able to met and served in big business functions like when the ambassador of Austrailia had conference.

My training in TESDA WOMEN's CENTER in Manila was such an unforgetable experienced.

I really do Weekends. It's the time hubby and I bond more together such like doing the yard stuff, driving somewhere, eating outside, watching TV together, and watching movies. Yesterday, we clean up more in the backyard and sprayed something for webworms. Then we sit down here in PC, I did my own stuff while he was his own site and check bank stuff on his own PC.

Then went to Benigans and ate and head down to the mall for a movie. We watched Bourne Ultimatum and Ate Rosalie was right, it was an awesome movie. I love Matt Demon, he is not as handsome as Brad Pit and Tom Cruise but he was into his character. He portrayed so wonderfully in almost all his movie.

Extremely Happy!

I am extremely happy tonight for our Internet was finally fixed tonight. The AT&T technician came over to fix it. I felt bad for all this days’ Hubby and I thought the connection problem was due to the AT&T Major Construction in front of our house. But the technician said its some wires on the backyard. Well who knows, He might just told us that so they can’t give us credit for the whole week without good Internet and phone connection. It’s so weird it was starting that way since their first day of constructions and they said they don’t have any available technician until today that is also coincidence as constructions ended this afternoon. Do you think it’s just coincident? Hummmmm whatever I am just extremely happy I can check my mails and blogs again. And most importantly PPP hahahahahaha

This is the second time already waaaaahaaaahaaaa… di yata nila ako gusto hehhehehe…Well di naman as in needed ko talaga adto dentist eh kasi wala naman sakit sa ngipin ko… for check up and cleaning lang ako… kasi nga daw I have free check up and cleaning twice a year ata… well di man gyud as in free kay nagbayad man hubby dental insurance… so sayang kung di ka adto di ba….Anyway I’m sure din naman that there’s some teeth of mine that really need to be treated….

My beautiful Mama

1. My mama is very LOVED by my beloved grandma and grandpa. She's her baby girl to the point she did not work and use her degree because grandma just want her to help with business in the market.

2. My mama is very pretty especially during her younger age. She had a nice skin and she got her nose from grandpa not from grandma hhehehe.

2.My mother is a very kind hearted person. She's touch easily seeing people in need. No matterhow small she have, she always share to everyone even to strangers... and thats why we had a lot of arguments kasi kahit ulam pinamimigay sa mga kapitbahay at customer ng tindahan namin. Ok lang naman mamigay pero wag naman subra di bah.

3. She never fight back to those people who hurt her so much that ruins our family and made me and my siblings apart from mama and papa. But it's ok bec. God never sleep, he knows everything that happened and thanks to God he never forget us through our sufferings.

4. Mama is also generous. I remember when i was a kid and even the time we were together again... she will give us anything as long as she have something she can give.

5. My Mama is my jewel... what ever happened before, even we've been separated for a long time... i know it's not her fault. And i had forgiven here for a long time and now, i don't have any regrets nor any bad feelings about my Mom. She is my mom, my one and only mom, forever.

Oh my gosh Anne bakit mo ako pinapaiyak... na me miss ko Mama Lorna ko and Mama Sing ko. Mama Sing is my grandma who raised me and my siblings. I love you both so much...

What An Embarassing Day

I had an appointment yesterday but since I can't drive and since Tony is working, he asked some favor to his mother to accompanied me. She's the sweetest mother, mother in law and grandmother in the whole world. She just loves all members in the family and everyone loves her as well.

Anyway, she arrived here yesterday about 7:30am to pick me up. We drove to Health Department Office then to the doctor’s clinic just to get records of my vaccination as USCIS asked for it again. No idea what happened to my papers we submitted last April.

After we got all papers I needed, we drove back to Burleson to get my Father in law. And then we ate breakfast in Madeline located in Arlington. That was a bit long drive from Burleson that’s why I was so ashamed and felt so bad because I didn’t know they were supposed to take me home after breakfast and getting some fruits for me and Tony. There was just a miss communication, because from what I remember last night, Tony said he would pick me up from Burleson after he got off from work. So what I did… the foolish me... as we were ready to go from their going to eat breakfast in Arlington, I told my mother in law I’m just going to leave my papers on the table as I thought we were coming back there after breakfast and some errands. But she didn’t hear me maybe because she walked off to the garage already to get the car ready.

Gosh I was so ashamed I made them drive long way plus the fact that my Father in law was ready to see the house. Huhuhuhu I felt really bad. But they are very understanding they never blame me or anything instead they made me feel better as they said there’s nothing to worry about bec. It was just a miss communication between me, Tony, and them for they don’t explained things to me and since I Tony told me he will pick me up. They are so sweet, kind and nice to me. They even bought us lots of fruits and got chickens from Babes for our dinner last night and sent us home some of the leftover for they ordered bunch of food. But still I felt bad about it so I’m planning to make up since they are coming on Sunday. Maybe I can search for good recipes to cook for.
